4x5 film must be
loaded in total darkness

Load the film by attaching it to this tube with the emulsion side facing outwards. Use the bands to hold the film on at the ends of the tube. Position the film to the edge of the alignment notches that are cut into each end of the tube. This notch aligns the film so that the film edges face the seam on the can.

The winding system for the Blender 35 uses a reloadable film cassette as a take-up holder. This cassette is assembled with the spindle upside down. First, cut the leader off your film and tape it to the take-up spindle with both spool ends facing up.

Slip cassette outer cover over spindle so that resulting assembly mirrors the supply roll.
